Putting it mildly, feelings are complicated. Many things can influence how we feel. Friends, circumstances, and culture all impact how we think and feel about ourselves. So, how do we navigate all of these influences? If you are a member of the trans community, we lovingly ask you to consider a few things. First, your feelings—and all the things that influence them—don't determine truth. Feelings come and go, but truth remains. God did not make a mistake when He created you. He either created you as a man, or as a woman. He didn't give you the "wrong body." Even if you feel like that's what's happened to you, it's not true. From the very beginning, God made us distinctly male and female by design (Genesis 1:27). The Bible condemns acting like (1 Corinthians 6:9-10) and dressing like (Deuteronomy 22:5) the opposite sex; it's a twisting of the truth. Our goal is not to shame you, but to lovingly help you see that you are sinning against God. The good news is that God loves you so much that He sent His Son, Jesus, to live a sinless life and die on a cross for your sins. Jesus died and rose from the dead to restore you to a right relationship with God (1 Peter 3:18); bringing you in line with the truth. You can receive forgiveness and new life by turning from your sins. Decide today to follow Jesus for the rest of your life. Trust that His death makes you right with God.
