Many think “grace” is a license to sin. It’s not. True grace is much more amazing. The grace of God described in Scripture transfers people out of darkness into light. It changes spiritually dead sinners into living saints. True grace continues to change a person more and more into the likeness of Christ over time. Fake grace says you can mumble a prayer and remain exactly the same. True grace declares you’ll never be the same again. The Bible warns that some will peddle the word of God for their own profit (2 Cor. 2:17; Titus 1:10–11). These false teachers claim to speak for God and say you can continue in sin and be assured of heaven. The Bible warns: “For certain men have secretly slipped in among you—men who long ago were marked out for the condemnation I am about to describe—ungodly men who have turned the grace of our God into a license for evil and who deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ” (Jude 1:4). Have you fallen for counterfeit grace? Contrary to popular teaching, the Bible warns about continuing in sin after receiving the knowledge of the truth. Living as if grace gives us license to sin demonstrates contempt for the Son of God and profanes the blood of the covenant. It insults the Spirit of grace (Heb. 10:26–29). If you’ve trusted in counterfeit grace, please repent and believe the truth today! This is a trustworthy statement, deserving full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners (1 Tim. 1:15). God’s amazing grace is able to save all who turn to Him in humble faith, even the worst of sinners. Turn away from living for yourself and turn to Christ who is the risen and exalted Lord of all.
