Justification is defined as pardon of sin and acquittal from guilt and punishment; or an act of free grace by which God pardons the sinner and accepts him as righteous, on account of the wrath-appeasing sacrifice of Jesus Christ. In short, it is God declaring a guilty person not guilty and crediting them with the righteousness of Christ based on faith alone. Sin came into the world through one man (Adam), and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned. Sin is transgression of the Law of God. It is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment. Our sin is deserving of God’s eternal wrath in hell. So how can a man who is guilty of breaking God’s commandments and deserving of eternal punishment in hell be justified and have peace with God? For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God put forward as a propitiation, to be received by faith. This was to show God's righteousness, because in His divine forbearance He had passed over former sins. It was to show His righteousness at the present time, so that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus. Faith thus receiving and resting on Christ is the sole instrument of justification. Please repent (turn from sin) today and surrender your life to the Lord Jesus Christ, trusting in His death, burial, and resurrection alone for salvation and eternal life. YouGotOurTract.com
