Our culture has many messages for us. A popular one right now is: "Love is love." This has been used to defend many things, including homosexual relationships. But, is morality—what's right or wrong—decided by consensus? It isn't. There is a God in Heaven. Here's what His word says, "Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God" (1 Corinthians 6:9-10). If you're living a homosexual lifestyle, you're living in sin, and your sin is separating you from God. You're grieving God. If you continue on this path, you will have to suffer "eternal punishment" in hell (Matthew 25:46), along with temporal consequences here and now. But there is good news! In 1 Corinthians 6:11, Paul wrote, "Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God." Notice that prior to coming to Christ, the Corinthian believers had been engaging in wicked practices, including homosexuality. But something changed them. What was it? Jesus, and He can change you, too! He died, was buried, and rose from the dead. Because of His great love, Jesus was willing to suffer and die on a cross to take away the guilt of your sin. Jesus is offering you forgiveness and spiritual transformation if you'll turn from sin, follow Him, trusting that His death makes you right with God. Jesus loves you!
