Why would they? Scientific evidence from Japan reveals that cavemen were intelligent, inventing ovens and showing high degrees of food preparation skill. Not only are cavemen mentioned in the Bible (Gen. 19:30; Job 30:4-6), residents of Malta lived in caves as recently as the late 17th century! Only a fool would see a cave dweller as "evidence" for evolution and conclude that there is no God (Ps. 19:1). Why do some scientists do this? Romans 1:20-25 gives the answer: they do not glorify Him as God and their hearts are darkened. Is your heart darkened? Do you live for yourself above everything else? This is a violation of the 1st commandment, "You shall have no other gods before me." Do you blaspheme the name of the Lord by denying His existence? The Bible says He will not hold you guiltless for that sin. Have you ever lied? The Bible says you will not go unpunished (Prov. 19:9). You deserve judgment and eternal torment in Hell (Rev. 20:11-15). Jesus Christ offered Himself, like a scapegoat, for sinners (Rom. 5:8-9). God treated His Son as we deserved to be treated so that He can treat us as He treats His Son. He declares us innocent because of who Christ is and what He has done (2 Cor. 5:21).
